BRISBANE, April 15 AAP - Accused multiple murderer Leonard Fraser told a prison inmatehe had smashed Natasha Ryan across the head as she slept, then dumped her body in a lilypond, a court was told today.

Fraser's Brisbane Supreme Court murder trial last week was told Ms Ryan had been foundhiding out in a house in Rockhampton in central Queensland more than four years aftershe went missing and was presumed murdered.

While Fraser has been cleared of Ms Ryan's killing, he is still on trial for the murderof Sylvia Benedetti, 19, Beverly Leggo, 36, and Julie Turner, 39, all of whom disappearedfrom Rockhampton between December 1998 and April 1999.

Yesterday Ms Ryan was foreshadowed as a possible witness in the trial, however thejury has not been told anything more about the possibility.

Ms Ryan, who will be 19 next month, was discovered by police last Thursday in a houserented by her boyfriend, Scott Black, a milkman, in Rockhampton.

Before that she had last been seen by some friends on August 31, 1998, meeting a mandown an alleyway near the cinemas at Rockhampton.

Prison inmate Alan Quinn told the court today that Fraser told him on November 27,2000, that he had murdered Ms Ryan.

"Well I hit Natasha and she was unconscious, I drove to the showgrounds and that'swhere I murdered her. I took her body out to the pink lily pond near the airport," Quinnsaid Fraser told him, referring to notes he took after the conversation.

Quinn, who is currently a prisoner in NSW, said Fraser told him he had known Natashafrom the bowling alley in Rockhampton and that he would sit outside her high school andwatch her.

He said Fraser told him that he had spoken to Natasha inside the cinemas and she'dsaid she wanted to go to Yeppoon to see a friend so he agreed to give her a lift to thebeach.

He said during the trip she fell asleep and then he just smashed her across the head.

The trial is continuing.
